Include the build version in flash detection
Remember to include the build version in your flash detection. Otherwise you flash might not work on a number of computers.
This is an example of idleness on my part. I had got in the habit of just using 0 as the build version since it had never made any difference as long as the player version was correct. One recent project however I neglected to include the build version of the flash player and it fell over. It worked fine for me and the other people in my my office but for the client it was just looping through the timeline. In the familiar breaking style. It was fortunate that some one spotted though.
I think this is more relevant for the Flash Player 9. There seems to be more stability issues between builds. I expect because it’s a new VM.
You can check what build of flash player you have installed on your browser visiting About Flash Player which is available on the context menu of any SWF.
